Cows absorb more of their food because the reaction that creates methane is suppressed, meaning less food. Another major benefit that comes from this reaction suppression is that E Coli is far less likely to propagate. Preventing E Coli from initially forming removes the need to get rid of the bacteria when the cow is killed. This allows the butchering process to be faster, and the end product to be far safer for customers.
